Five Questions John McCain Won't Answer Tonight
Real Virginians ask McCain questions he won't address in tonight's 'tele-town hall'

RICHMOND - Tonight, John McCain will host a staged "tele-town hall" with pre-screened questions from a select group of Virginians.

Even though more Virginians are raising questions about McCain's Bush-like plans, Senator "Straight Talk" will spend the town hall answering a flurry of spoon-fed questions.

Here are five questions from real Virginians that McCain likely will not be asked - and will not answer - tonight:

1.  "Senator McCain, your top economic advisor just said the recession is mental and America is a 'nation of whiners.' When will you come to Martinsville, where we just lost 400 jobs, and explain that to my neighbors?"
- Jim White, Martinsville

2.  "Senator McCain, I served in the Navy for 22 years. I'm concerned that we're losing men and women and spending billions of dollars on the war in Iraq. Senator McCain, how are you going to pay for this war? How do we as Americans know that this won't just be a re-run of the Bush Administration?"
- James J. Clark, Virginia Beach

3.  "Senator McCain, I worked all my life and now I depend on Social Security as part of my retirement plan. But I saw on TV this week that you said young people were working to support Social Security and that was a 'disgrace.' Do you really understand how the system works? What changes are you going to make to this system that you call a 'disgrace?'"
- Ellie Meleski, Richmond

4.  "Senator McCain, you say you stand for straight talk. Tell me this: Why did you choose your new campaign manager from George Bush's school of attack politics? Is that why you were caught misleading voters about Barack Obama twice this week? How about some true straight talk for once?"
- Ben Bryant, Alexandria

5.  "Senator McCain, you've given a lot of different answers on how long Americans will be in Iraq. What is your plan? If you're elected, how long will our troops be in Iraq?"
- Nita Echols, Vinton
