Eric Ferguson
Ninth House District

A lifelong resident of the Ninth, Eric Ferguson was raised in the Snow Creek section of Franklin County. He received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Virginia and his law degree at the University of Richmond. No stranger to the General Assembly, while attending law school Eric served as a legislative aide.
Following law school Eric entered private practice in Rocky Mount and is a partner at Rhodes, Ferguson, and Stone. Whether it was representing developers on various planning issues or arguing before the Virginia Supreme Court, Eric’s professional experience has provided him the leadership skills needed in Richmond. With his wife, Sue and daughters, Morgan and Nora, Eric makes his home in Rocky Mount. In addition to a thriving law practice, Eric is very active in the community. He has served on the board of directors for the United Way, the YMCA, STEP, Inc., and the Snow Creek Volunteer Rescue Squad. Eric is a former president of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Rocky Mount Lions Club, and the Lee M. Waid Elementary Parent Teacher Organization. Eric and his family attend Mount Carmel Baptist Church where he teaches Sunday School and serves as a deacon.
Eric understands that leadership is about people, not politics. “I want to go to Richmond and work for the people of this district. There is far too much at stake for our voice to be wasted on partisan rancor and wealthy special interest groups.” Eric adds, “The Ninth District expects more and deserves better. It is time for change.”
